Behind the desk

The miniature painting studio

Before painting press-on nails, I spent years under desk lamps detailing custom vinyl toys and garage kits. The scale changed, but the millimeter brush control remained.

From vinyl to nails

Patience on a tiny canvas

Painting vinyl garage kits taught me that surface preparation determines the final coat. A press-on tip requires the same deliberate scuffing, primer adhesion, and steady handwork as a hand-cast resin sculpt.

Working solo at an unvarnished oak desk means no assembly lines or rushed timers. Each nail sits mounted on a wooden dowel until every line, speckle, and matte seal cures properly.

Studio discipline

Pigment drops mixed one by one

No factory blanks or pre-bottled shortcuts enter the queue. Each set takes roughly two hours of steady handwork while the tea cools, matching your exact finger measurements.
